We have a newly created opportunity for an Estimating Manager to join the New Business Team at Higgins. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Estimator to lead a team and add significant value to the business by driving success in our bids and tenders. You will lead a team of six staff who expertly manage the full tender process. This includes risk prediction, assessment, and valuation; preparation, review, and delivery of tenders and quotes; pricing of variations; attribute writing; and detailed bid submission. Our ideal candidate will have a breadth of experience in the civil construction industry, across all civil areas including Earthworks, Pavements, Drainage, and Surfacing. What you’ll bring to the role Minimum of 7-10 years Estimating Experience in the Civil Construction Industry Proven experience working on civil construction and/or roading tenders and projects Prior leadership experience and a passion for mentoring and development A result‑focused, commercially astute outlook and a practical approach to problem solving Ability to handle a diverse workload, finding creative and forward‑thinking solutions while driving team performance and keeping projects on track. Technical qualifications preferred Client engagement experience is beneficial; you will work with clients/customers to ensure they understand our bids and resolve concerns or issues Proficient with CCS Candy, Benchmark and Microsoft Projects Sound contractual knowledge especially NZS 3910:2013 Design software knowledge (AutoCAD, 12D) is advantageous but not essential Higgins is a leading roading and civil infrastructure company in New Zealand.
