Job Description

Build it right before it reaches site. The best projects don't happen by chance. They start with good decisions. We're looking for someone who enjoys getting involved early. Someone who understands construction, thinks commercially and enjoys solving problems before they become expensive. This isn't a traditional estimating role. It's an opportunity to lead projects through pre-construction, bringing together pricing, procurement, design coordination and buildability to ensure every project is ready for successful delivery. You’ll play a key role in protecting project profitability, reducing risk and setting the construction team up to succeed long before the first shovel goes in the ground. About the role Working across a range of commercial, education and modular construction projects, you'll take ownership of the pre-construction process from feasibility through to handover. You’ll lead projects through the entire pre-construction phase, bringing together design, pricing, procurement and buildability into one coordinated process. Your day-to-day will include: Preparing and reviewing estimates and cost plans Coordinating consultants and design teams Reviewing drawings and identifying buildability opportunities Managing procurement and subcontractor pricing Value engineering and commercial problem solving Managing programme and pre-construction milestones Working closely with the construction team to ensure seamless handover This role is about far more than producing numbers. It's about making good commercial decisions, reducing risk and giving the delivery team the best possible start. About you Your title isn't the important part. You may have come from a background as a: Commercial Manager Construction Manager Senior Project Manager Senior Quantity Surveyor Design & Build professional What matters is that you've owned outcomes. You understand how projects come together, can challenge design when needed, know how to manage commercial risk and enjoy finding smarter ways to deliver projects. You’ll probably also be someone who: Enjoys solving problems Thinks commercially without losing sight of relationships Communicates well with clients, consultants and site teams Takes ownership rather than waiting to be told what to do Is humble, practical and easy to work with Enjoys improving systems and challenging the status quo What's in it for you? A leadership team that values ideas, initiative and continuous improvement. Variety across commercial, education and modular construction projects. The chance to influence projects from concept through to delivery, not just one part of the process. A collaborative, family-owned business where your contribution will be recognised and your ideas welcomed. A role with genuine autonomy, ownership and the backing to make a difference. The opportunity to help shape the future of a business with ambitious plans for growth. If you're looking for a role where you can combine commercial thinking with practical construction knowledge - and where your work will have a genuine impact before the first shovel goes in the ground, we'd love to hear from you. #J-18808-Ljbffr
