Job Description
Overview Be part of New Zealand's largest hospital and the Regional Cancer and Blood Service at Auckland City Hospital. This permanent full-time senior nursing opportunity in Oncology involves leading and influencing nursing education across hospital and community settings and contributing to the care of people affected by cancer. Health New Zealand (Te Whatu Ora) is committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders. Responsibilities Provide clinical leadership and expert oncology nursing education. Develop, coordinate and deliver education programmes for the oncology nursing workforce. Support competency assessment, professional development and workforce capability initiatives. Promote evidence‑based practice, quality improvement and clinical excellence. Work collaboratively with nursing leadership, multidisciplinary teams and regional stakeholders. Contribute to the ongoing development and implementation of oncology services across the Northern Region. Qualifications Registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC). Minimum Level 3, preferably Level 4 Chemotherapy Certification, with significant oncology nursing experience. A strong commitment to achieving equitable health outcomes for Māori and to Te Tiriti o Waitangi. Postgraduate qualifications, preferably at Master's level. Experience in adult education, coaching and workforce development. Excellent communication, leadership and relationship management skills. The ability to influence practice and support change across a range of clinical environments. Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
