Job Description

Senior Payroll Specialist A senior payroll professional responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll services for thousands of NewZealand employees within a complex organisation while providing specialist advice, coaching staff, and influencing best practice across payroll operations. Responsibilities Provide specialist payroll advice and resolve complex payroll issues across the organisation. Coach and develop staff in payroll processes and best practice. Influence continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to payroll system design. Ensure employees are paid accurately and on time. Qualifications Previous knowledge of SAP payroll processing or similar. Experience running a fortnightly pay process, out‑of‑cycle payments, and payroll filing processes. Experience with complex payroll calculations. Strong technical knowledge of payroll legislation, including the Holidays Act, Employment Relations Act, Parental Leave Act and Employment Protection Act, and associated payroll obligations. Experience providing expert advice and delivering exceptional customer service in a high‑volume environment while consistently meeting service standards. Willingness and ability to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct. Salary and Benefits Salary range: NZ$74,815–90,347 per annum plus KiwiSaver.
