Cancer Manager – Nelson Hospital A challenging and rewarding leadership role within a supportive healthcare environment with the opportunity to make a lasting impact on cancer care across the Nelson Marlborough region. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the transformation of cancer services and improve the lives of people affected by cancer throughout our region. Based within the Nelson Marlborough region, this role will require regular travel across the district to engage with teams, stakeholders, and service providers. This is a fixed‑term, full‑time role for 24 months working 80 hours per fortnight (1.0FTE), Monday to Friday. No on‑call is required. Key Responsibilities Lead the progression of initiatives that enhance cancer services across the district. Improve access to new cancer medicines. Implement national service delivery models of care and shape the future model of cancer care for our communities. Engage with multidisciplinary stakeholders including clinical and operational teams within the Nelson Marlborough region. Provide strategic direction and project leadership for cancer service improvement initiatives. Key Qualifications Proven experience in healthcare management, programme management, or service improvement. Strong project leadership and change‑management skills. Experience working with multidisciplinary stakeholders in complex health environments. Excellent communication, problem‑solving, negotiation and relationship‑building capabilities. Strategic thinking combined with the ability to deliver practical outcomes. Knowledge of cancer services, healthcare operations, or clinical service development is highly desirable. Relevant tertiary qualification in health, management, project management, or a related discipline. The successful candidate must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ work visa at the time of applying. With teams based at Nelson and Wairau Hospitals, alongside a dedicated Rural Oncology service, we provide comprehensive medical oncology and haematology care to a diverse population.
