Job Description

Setting the path of wellness in our communities for the early years, for generations to come. Whānau Āwhina Plunket is committed to supporting the health and wellbeing of pēpi, tamariki and their whānau/family. We have adopted a pro‑equity approach where we give life to the Treaty principles of tino rangatiratanga, partnership, active protection, equity and options in our mahi/work to ensure healthy tamariki, confident whānau and connected communities. This is a permanent (0.9 FTE) position. We are flexible with the times and days worked; occasional Saturday shifts are required. The salary band for this role is between $66,222 ($33.51 per hour) – $94,842 ($48 per hour) depending on experience. The opportunity Plunket Nurses assess the growth and development of tamariki. You will meet with whānau (both home visits and in clinics) where you’ll foster trusting relationships in the community and adopt a holistic approach to deliver culturally appropriate and personalised support. Working alongside a highly motivated team you’ll be committed to delivering engaging care where whānau have a safe space to share parenting challenges and celebrate successes. Working in the community during a cost‑of‑living crisis means you will inevitably meet whānau who are facing significant challenges. Our clinical responsibilities co‑exist with the need to ensure pēpi are being raised in safe and healthy homes. About you You’ll need to be resourceful, resilient and comfortable working autonomously in the community, using sound judgement and making confident decisions to maintain a high‑quality experience and minimise risk for our clients. It is vital that you enjoy working with pēpi, however the majority of your interactions will be with caregivers. In order to deliver the right support, you’ll need to have exceptional active listening skills and be able to ask questions tactfully. Skills and Qualifications Registered Nurse, preferably with experience in paediatrics or primary care nursing. Hold or be able to obtain an Annual Practicing Certificate. Hold a full clean New Zealand driver’s licence. Committed to completing a Post‑Graduate Certificate in Well‑Child Tamariki‑ora (we will pay for this). Benefits Ongoing opportunities for personal and professional development. Well‑being scheme: use one sick‑leave day to proactively protect your well‑being. Our goal to support kaimahi to thrive in a culturally safe environment includes multiple communities of interest for Māori, Pasifika, Asian and more, with dedicated space and time for quarterly and annual gatherings. How to apply Applications must be made online and close on 23 July 2026. For specific questions about the mahi, contact Clinical Leader Lisa Sillars at [email protected]. Please note we will process applications as they are received and reserve the right to close the advert early if we find a suitable candidate. #J-18808-Ljbffr
