# Manager Health Systems at NZ Defence Force, Wellington - Wairarapa## Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role**Mō te tūnga | About the role**As the Manager Health Systems, you will play a pivotal leadership role within the Defence Health Directorate, overseeing the management, performance, and continuous improvement of health information systems that support the delivery of healthcare across the organisation. You will lead a small, high-performing team and act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, ensuring systems are fit-for-purpose, customer-focused, and aligned with strategic health outcomes.This is a hands-on role that sits at the intersection of technology, data, and healthcare delivery. You will drive the development and optimisation of business systems, enable accurate and timely health reporting, and support critical projects that underpin operational capability. Working across a complex stakeholder environment, you will ensure systems are secure, compliant, and adaptable, while contributing to the broader Defence Health Performance Framework.Key responsibilities include:* Leading and developing a team, including performance management, planning, and coaching.* Managing and enhancing health information systems and associated support processes.* Providing data insights, reporting, and analysis to inform strategic and operational decisions.* Driving system improvements, governance, and alignment with national health sector standards.* Provide expert advice on data collection, storage, extraction, and reporting techniques.* Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and partner agencies.The salary for this role ranges from $101,971 - $112,653, inclusive of a 4% superannuation contribution. Appointments within this range are based on skills and experience.Before you can start this role in full capacity, you must hold a minimum CV Security Clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain an SV clearance. You bring a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and people leadership, coupled with the ability to translate complex data into meaningful insights for decision-makers.With demonstrated experience managing teams and delivering system outcomes in complex environments, you are comfortable working with senior stakeholders and navigating competing priorities.
