Midwife Manager, Birthing & Assessment – Women's Health Location: Middlemore Hospital. Employment: Permanent, Part Time (0.4FTE). Schedule: Monday–Friday. Role Overview Lead one of Aotearoa’s busiest and most dynamic maternity services as a Midwife Manager in the Birthing & Assessment unit. Shape service delivery, influence workforce development and improve outcomes for whānau across diverse communities. Key Responsibilities Lead the daily operations and long‑term strategy for the B&A Unit. Provide visible leadership and professional guidance to midwifery staff. Drive equity‑focused healthcare outcomes, particularly for Māori whānau. Oversee workforce planning, recruitment and capability development. Ensure compliance with clinical quality, safety and regulatory standards. Manage financial performance including budget planning and resource management. Qualifications NZ Registered Midwife with a current Annual Practicing Certificate. 8+ years experience in secondary/tertiary maternity care. Proven leadership and/or management experience – ability to lead and coordinate a team. Relevant postgraduate qualification preferred.
