Job Description
About this role The Senior Technical Business Analyst will support the Digital Travel portfolio, working across products such as NZTD, Air, and Maritime end‑to‑end traveller and border officer systems. The role reports to the Product Manager – NZTD and is responsible for delivering detailed customer and user requirements, facilitating Agile processes, and ensuring that the development teams build the right solutions. Responsibilities Gather and validate customer and user requirements, translating business needs into clear use cases and user stories. Advocate for the business’s objectives, priorities, and success criteria to product delivery teams. Facilitate refinement sessions and other Agile ceremonies, helping the team break work into manageable, value‑driven increments. Bridge communication between government agency Business Analysts and Digital Travel product teams. Collaborate with the Product Manager and Product Owner to obtain regular feedback throughout the product development lifecycle. Participate in product discovery rhythms, lead UAT testing, and provide final acceptance for releases. Qualifications 5+ years of hands‑on experience as a technical business analyst in ICT solution delivery, preferably in software development BAU teams. Experience across all stages of the product lifecycle and operational support of business‑critical services. Proficient with Agile delivery frameworks and familiarity with DevOps, lean, and product management methodologies. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts. Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work flexibly across multiple products and services. Adaptable to new technologies and methodologies as required. Good knowledge of software development topics, including development languages, databases, integration, DevOps, build pipelines, automation, APIs, cloud concepts, UX design, product development, networking, and security compliance.
