Occupational Therapist - Allied Health Unit (AHU) Occupational Therapist – Allied Health Unit (AHU) Make a real difference in acute care We're seeking a passionate and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic inpatient Allied Health team at Dunedin Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to work across a diverse range of specialties—including general surgery, vascular, neurology, surgical gynaecology, urology, and orthopaedics —while growing your clinical expertise in a supportive, forward-thinking environment. About the role In this varied and rewarding position, you will: Be part of a high-performing, interdisciplinary team delivering patient-centred care Complete occupational performance assessments and interventions across a wide range of acute inpatient services Enjoy variety through occasional support across other inpatient areas Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives Participate in a weekend on-call roster You’ll be supported with: Regular clinical supervision and team in-services Access to professional development funding and conferences A culture that encourages innovation, learning, and career progression About you You’re an enthusiastic, adaptable clinician who thrives in a fast-paced hospital environment and enjoys working collaboratively. You will bring: At least 3 years’ clinical experience Experience in vascular and amputee care management (preferred), or a willingness to develop skills in this area Familiarity with wheeled mobility, seating, and positioning assessment is an advantage, or an interest in learning in this area Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills The ability to prioritise and manage a busy caseload A commitment to ongoing professional development You will also be required to: Support and mentor students, junior staff, and Allied Health Assistants Work confidently both autonomously and as part of a team Be flexible and responsive in a changing healthcare environment Enjoy both professional satisfaction and an exceptional lifestyle: Stunning natural surroundings and affordable living Subsidised gym memberships + discounted health insurance Access to holiday accommodation and retail discounts Salary range This role belongs to the PSA/DHBs Allied, Public Health and Technical Multi-Employer Collective Agreement and falls between Step 3 - ($90,843) p.a. - Step 7 ($110,290) p.a. pro rata of the Degree-Based Allied, Public Health and Technical scale.
