We are looking for a licensed electrician with an industrial background to join our team as an Electrical Fitter, working in a substation environment across construction and maintenance projects. This role involves constructing, installing, wiring, testing, and maintaining electrical equipment in line with customer, regulatory, and industry requirements. Reporting to the Technical Field Manager, you’ll work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver high‑quality outcomes while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Carry out prescribed electrical fitting work in accordance with regulations and industry standards. Construct, install, wire, test, and maintain substation equipment (11kV–110kV). Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications. Complete all associated wiring accurately and to standard. Complete accurate record keeping, reporting, and job documentation. Take ownership and accountability for tasks and work delivered. Meet and exceed operational, regulatory, and customer requirements. Identify issues, apply logical problem‑solving skills, and implement effective solutions. Proactively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, audits, and safety practices. Ensure all tools, equipment, and PPE are fit for purpose and well maintained. Exercise authority to stop any unsafe work. Maintain 100% compliance with HSQE requirements, codes of practice, and standards. Be safety‑focused for yourself, your team, customers, and the public. Proactively report incidents, hazards, and near misses. Ensure compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements. About You You’ll be a safety‑conscious professional who takes pride in quality workmanship and enjoys working both independently and as part of a team. EWRB Practising Licence (essential). Licensed electrician with a strong industrial background. Certificate in Electrical Engineering (or working towards – advantageous). Proven experience in substation construction or maintenance (11kV–110kV). Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and complete associated wiring. Strong diagnostic, logical thinking, and problem‑solving skills. Mechanical and electronics aptitude. Good written and verbal communication skills. High attention to detail and accuracy.
