Job Description

This permanent, part‑time (up to 0.8FTE) position offers clinicians the opportunity to provide regional acute, elective and outpatient Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMS) services in Hamilton. The role includes participation in a 1‑in‑5 after‑hours on‑call roster and opportunities to contribute to the teaching and development of junior medical staff and students. Key Responsibilities Efficient and effective assessment and management of patients following accepted professional guidelines. Effective documentation and communication of all treatment provided to patients. Attend regular meetings of the service to collaborate with colleagues and, as required, with management. Provide clinical supervision and teaching for medical officers assigned to the service. Qualifications & Requirements Hold or be eligible for registration as a specialist OMS surgeon with the Medical Council and Dental Council of NewZealand. Experience in implementing TeTiritioWaitangi in action. Hold a current full driver’s licence. Commitment to providing regional OMS services and willingness to work part‑time hours (up to 0.8FTE) and participate in after‑hours on‑call duties. Experienced OMS specialist with awareness of ablative procedures and microvascular free flap reconstruction. #J-18808-Ljbffr
