This is a hands‑on workshop‑based role where powder coating will be the primary responsibility, with industrial spray painting forming a smaller part of the day‑to‑day duties. In this role, you will prepare metal surfaces and apply high‑quality powder coating finishes to a wide range of industrial and commercial products, while occasionally assisting with specialist spray painting work. Key Responsibilities Operating powder coating equipment and spray booths to deliver consistent, high‑quality finishes Metal surface preparation (sanding, blasting, chemical pre‑treatment) Applying epoxy powders and other specialist coatings Masking, hanging, and finishing products to required standards Performing minor industrial spray‑painting tasks when required Maintaining a clean and safe workshop environment Conducting quality checks and ensuring attention to detail Key Requirements Minimum 2 years’ hands‑on experience in powder coating Solid understanding of surface preparation and powder application processes Experience with industrial spray painting (advantageous) Strong attention to detail and pride in quality of work Reliable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a small team Right to work in New Zealand without visa restrictions What We Offer Competitive hourly rate based on experience Ongoing training and development opportunities Stable, long‑term role with a reputable New Zealand company Supportive team environment in a well‑equipped workshop All successful candidates will be required to pass a pre‑employment drug and alcohol screen.
