Job Description

Water Engineer (Intermediate or Senior) | Timaru Join our Timaru team and help deliver the water infrastructure that supports thriving communities across South Canterbury. As a Water Engineer, you’ll work across a diverse range of water, wastewater and stormwater projects, partnering with clients and multidisciplinary teams to develop practical, sustainable solutions. This role offers the opportunity to build your project-management capabilities, deepen your technical expertise and contribute to projects that make a tangible difference for our clients and communities. What You’ll Do Manage and deliver water engineering projects, ensuring technical quality, programme, budget and client satisfaction objectives are achieved. Coordinate project activities, monitor financial performance and contribute to project reporting and invoicing. Undertake investigations, inspections, analysis and design to develop effective solutions for water infrastructure challenges. Prepare reports, drawings, specifications, schedules of quantities and contract documentation for construction projects. Complete detailed design work across water, wastewater and stormwater infrastructure projects. Assist with the supervision and monitoring of construction works to support successful project delivery. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across WSP to provide integrated client solutions. Support the development of junior engineers and contribute to a strong culture of safety, quality and continuous improvement. About You A bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Water Engineering. Ideally 5+ years of professional experience in a water engineering discipline. Experience in the planning, design and delivery of water infrastructure projects. Strong understanding of engineering design principles, technical standards and industry best practice. Experience preparing technical reports, specifications and construction documentation. Familiarity with design software such as Civil 3D or similar engineering tools. Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with a collaborative and client-focused approach. Full, clean New Zealand driver license. #J-18808-Ljbffr
