About The Role Reporting to the Corporate Affairs Director, you’ll be right in the mix — helping shape how people see, hear and experience DB Breweries, Star Hospitality Group, and our brands. This is a hands‑on communications role for someone who loves great storytelling, has a sharp eye for reputation, and brings fresh ideas for building connection with our people, consumers, customers, media and communities. What You’ll Be Doing Bringing brand and corporate stories to life through smart, creative PR and communications activity. Supporting communications and PR across a lively mix of local and global beverage brands, as well as distinctive hospitality venue brands. Creating sharp, engaging content for internal and external audiences – from employee updates and digital channels to media materials and stakeholder communications. Helping protect and build the reputation of two dynamic businesses: an iconic New Zealand brewer and the country’s largest hospitality group. Spotting stories, trends, issues and opportunities across media, social channels, venues, brands and the wider industry. Supporting media relations, executive communications, speeches, presentations and campaigns that land with impact. Contributing to sustainability and ESG communications in a way that is clear, credible and engaging. Managing media enquiries and supporting issues management when pace, judgement and calm thinking matter. Keeping projects moving across the Corporate Affairs team and bringing energy, curiosity and ideas to everything you do. What You’ll Bring Around 4–5 years’ experience in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing communications or sustainability communications. A natural storyteller with excellent writing, editing and content creation skills. A curious, creative thinker who brings ideas, initiative and a fresh perspective. Confidence creating content for different channels, audiences and tones – from internal comms to external PR. Some exposure to media relations, media monitoring or social listening tools. Strong relationship‑building skills and the confidence to work with people across all levels of the business. The ability to juggle multiple priorities, move quickly and stay calm when things change. Sound judgement, attention to detail and a genuine interest in reputation, brands, people and culture.
