Senior Policy Advisor

Overview Auckland Council’s Policy Department is looking for a Senior Policy Advisor for the Community Investment team to provide high‑quality policy advice that ensures Aucklanders have equitable access to open space. Key Responsibilities Coordinate long‑term planning for open space provision with various departments. Provide expert input into proposed plan changes, structure plans and other long‑term planning processes. Contribute to policy and strategy development, monitoring and evaluation. Qualifications With a tertiary qualification in landscape design, planning, social sciences, recreation, public policy or a related field and significant experience providing strategic advice in open space policy and planning. Policy development and strategic advice. Park or recreation planning. Thought leadership and influencing skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Project management. Knowledge of the RMA and Reserves Act – desirable. Benefits Competitive salary of $106,000 to $135,000 plus 3.5% KiwiSaver contribution. Hybrid role with flexible working options.
