# Youth Peer Support Worker - Te Roopu Kimiora at Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Te Tai Tokerau, Northland## Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role* **Permanent part-time role working 20 hours per week based in the Whangārei Child & Adolescent Mental Health and Addictions Service*** **An exciting role for youth to support youth on their journey to recovery*** **Action meaningful change all whilst enjoying everything the stunning North has to offer!**Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders.**About the Role**Peer support is based on the concept that people who have had a lived experience of mental health difficulties in their teen years, and have experienced recovery, can instil hope by providing support and demonstrating recovery to others.You have the opportunity to support tamariki, rangatahi and whānau who utilise Te Roopu Kimiora (Child and Adolescent Mental Health and Addiction) services.In this role you will help provide a youth perspective, awhi young people in their mental health journey and, when needed, provide an extra voice and advocate for our young clients. You can expect to work as part of a team to directly support young people on their path to recovery and bring a youth voice service development.**Click here** to view the position description.**About the Team/Service/Location**This team provides acute and community services for children and young people (up to 19 years) who have significant mental health, alcohol and other drug concerns.
