About the Role As part of the Primary Care Pathway programme, we invite interested candidates for a House Officer full‑time position (PGY1) at Health NZ (Nelson Marlborough) commencing October 2026. This role involves providing care and treatment to patients entering the GP practice and other patients who require attention. You will work with patients and their families to communicate and implement care‑management plans and monitor these as clinical conditions change. You will gain experience in community and ambulatory care. Training focuses on patient‑centred care, evidence‑based medicine, and uncertainty or management of long‑term conditions. Hours: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM daily with extended hours 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Weekends (Saturday and Sunday) 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Admission shifts 2:30 PM to 10:30 PM. No on‑call and no additional duties required. About the Team / Service / Location Our team of 50 House Officers within 120 RMOs works together to provide team‑based services to the patients of Nelson Marlborough. Collegiality and collaboration across all disciplines are key to our delivery of successful service to our patients and community. About You Eligible for general or provisional general registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. Meet Immigration New Zealand requirements to be eligible to live and work in New Zealand.
