Grocery Manager

New World Nelson City is looking for an experienced leader to join our senior team as Grocery Manager. Located in the heart of Nelson, our well-established supermarket is proud to serve the community with quality products and exceptional customer service. We’re seeking someone who can lead our Grocery department with passion, professionalism, and a drive for excellence. About the Role As Grocery Manager, you’ll take ownership of the day‑to‑day operations of the Grocery department, ensuring high standards in customer service, department presentation, and financial performance. You’ll lead by example, motivate your team, and deliver results that make a real impact. What You’ll Bring Proven experience in supermarket or retail leadership (3+ years in management preferred) Strong people leadership skills – confident, empathetic, and performance‑driven Excellent communication, planning, and organisational abilities Solid understanding of budgets, costs, and sales performance Problem‑solving skills and adaptability in a fast‑paced environment A genuine passion for customer service and community engagement This is a full‑time role (40–45 hours per week), Tuesday to Saturday, with flexibility required during peak trading periods. Hours will be discussed at interview.
