Job Description
New Territory Studio is looking for a full-time or contract Senior Digital Designer to join our dynamic team in Auckland. Reporting to the Director, you will be responsible for crafting visually compelling and highly functional websites that meet the unique needs of our diverse client base. This role involves designing across various digital projects, from eCommerce sites to portfolio pages, focusing on user experience, responsive design, and aesthetic precision. Location We are based in Auckland Central, New Zealand with a satellite office in Melbourne, VIC, Australia. The role can be worked remotely, but ideally within these centers. Responsibilities Conceptualisation & Design : Collaborate with clients and internal teams to develop initial concepts and translate them into engaging, visually striking web designs that align with brand guidelines and project objectives. User Experience (UX) : Create user‑centred designs by conducting industry research, refining user flows, and developing wireframes, prototypes, and final visual layouts that enhance usability and accessibility. Responsive Design : Ensure all web designs are optimised for a range of devices, maintaining a consistent, high‑quality experience across desktop, tablet, and mobile. Collaboration with Developers : Work closely with the development team to ensure design feasibility and implementation accuracy, providing guidance on design specifications and troubleshooting issues as they arise. Branding Consistency : Integrate brand identity into digital designs, ensuring consistency in visual elements, fonts, colours, and overall tone across all platforms. Continuous Improvement : Stay updated with the latest design trends, tools, and technologies to bring fresh ideas and innovative solutions to our projects. Requirements Proven experience as a Web Designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing creative, high‑quality design work. Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (XD, Photoshop, Illustrator), Figma, or Sketch. Solid understanding of UX/UI principles, responsive design, and web accessibility standards. Experience with web design best practices, including performance and SEO considerations. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines, with strong attention to detail. Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a collaborative mindset. Salary Salary will be determined by skill and experience level.
