Laboratory Team Leader (Embryology) | Lead a High-Performing IVF Laboratory At Fertility Associates, we help families grow. Lead at the forefront of embryology We are looking for an experienced Laboratory Team Leader (Embryology) to lead our Auckland embryology laboratory. This is a unique opportunity to combine hands‑on embryology with leadership, working at the centre of a large, high‑performing IVF service delivering complex and impactful patient care. About the role This is a full‑time, permanent position based at our Auckland clinic. You’ll lead a team of embryologists while remaining actively involved in laboratory work, ensuring the highest standards of clinical, scientific, and quality performance. You’ll play a key role in the day‑to‑day running of the laboratory while contributing to the ongoing development of our people, systems, and services. As our flagship clinic, Auckland offers exposure to complex clinical cases, advanced ART techniques, and wider network initiatives, with the opportunity to influence the future direction of embryology services across Fertility Associates. Key responsibilities Lead, mentor and support a high‑performing embryology laboratory team Maintain exceptional clinical, scientific and quality standards Contribute as a working embryologist within the laboratory roster Support rostering, workforce planning, and laboratory operations Drive continuous improvement, quality initiatives, and scientific projects Collaborate closely with clinicians, nurses and leadership teams What we’re looking for Must have Extensive experience as a clinical embryologist across ART techniques (IVF, ICSI, cryopreservation, biopsy) Proven leadership experience, with the ability to coach and develop others Registration with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand (or eligibility to obtain) You’ll thrive in this role if you Enjoy combining hands‑on laboratory work with team leadership Are driven by clinical excellence and strong patient outcomes Bring a structured, detail‑oriented approach to laboratory operations Are confident leading in a complex, high‑performing environment Are motivated to contribute to scientific and service improvement This role is not suitable for Candidates without strong ART experience or leadership exposure Why work for us?
