Overview Public Health Nurse – Kaitaia (Fixed‑Term; until March 2027) – Full‑time on‑site position within Health New Zealand – Te Whatu Ora. Location & Working Conditions Based in Kaitaia; full‑time; fixed term until March 2027; on‑site. Role Description Deliver public health nursing services throughout the community, promoting and protecting population health. Conduct population health assessments. Address a broad range of health determinants. Prioritise primary prevention strategies. Apply evidence‑based practice to support optimal public health outcomes. Qualifications and Experience Registered Nurse with current Nursing Council registration and Annual Practising Certificate. Strong competence in Māori health models and cultural safety. Commitment to equitable outcomes for underserved whānau and communities. Experience working with iwi/hapū and Māori communities. Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of learning and growth. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work well in a multidisciplinary team. Experience using Patient Management Systems. Strong time‑management skills and attention to detail.
