Job Description

Senior Engineer - Go-to-Market Auckland, New Zealand Halter Advanced relocation package Adaptation tips Flight ticket Temporary housing Visa services Rental deposit coverage Relocation bonus Covering moving expenses About Halter At Halter, we’re on a mission to enable farmers and graziers to run the most productive and sustainable operations. Our customers are using Halter to break free from the time‑intensive constraints of conventional practices, watching 500 cattle stand up and walk calmly toward their next break without quad bikes, dogs, or fences. Our technology revolutionizes grazing, changing lives and transforming an industry. By joining us you’ll solve challenging problems within a talented team and a culture built for high performance. Our team out‑think, out‑work and out‑care. We’re committed to delivering real change in the world – this isn’t easy, and in truth, we love that it’s hard. We’re backed to deliver on a mission that matters by Tier 1 investors including Founders Fund, Bessemer Venture Partners, BOND, DCVC, Blackbird, Promus Ventures, Rocket Lab’s Peter Beck and Icehouse ventures. Position This role is for a Senior Software Engineer who loves AI, system design, clean architecture, and building full‑stack products end‑to‑end. You’ll work across the stack to design, build, and scale AI‑powered tools and surfaces that customers, support teams and commercial teams rely on every day. You’ll sit at the heart of a rapidly growing AI ecosystem at Halter, collaborating closely with Customer AI, Support, Commercial, and launch teams. From polished frontend experiences to robust backend services and APIs, you’ll own meaningful slices of our product and infrastructure. If you enjoy building things that actually work in production – thoughtfully designed, well‑tested and built to grow – this is your kind of role. In this role your focus will be internal tooling, analytics tools, commission tooling and more. What You’ll Be Doing Build and ship full‑stack AI‑powered features across Halter’s commercial, support, and internal platforms Design and implement backend services and APIs that power AI workflows at scale Build clean, intuitive frontend experiences Own end‑to‑end delivery of features: scoping, architecting, building, testing, deploying and iterating Work with AI models and pipelines as part of your engineering toolkit – integrating them thoughtfully into well‑designed systems Contribute to Halter’s engineering standards around reliability, observability, testing and maintainability Collaborate with the Customer AI team to help define how AI capabilities get built and delivered across the product Qualifications Strong full‑stack engineering skills across frontend and backend – ideally TypeScript/React on the front, Python and/or Node on the back Solid experience designing and building production‑grade APIs, services and data pipelines A good intuition for how to integrate AI capabilities (LLMs, RAG, agents) into real products without the tech becoming the product Experience building for scale: writing maintainable code, thinking about observability, reliability and performance from day one Comfort working across the stack – you’re not precious about where a problem lives, you just want to solve it well A collaborative approach – you enjoy working tightly with cross‑functional teams and bringing others along with you Will be a Plus Experience with AI frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex or similar Familiarity with vector databases, embeddings or retrieval systems Exposure to workflow orchestration tooling (n8n, Temporal, Airflow, etc.) Experience with data engineering, ETL pipelines or event‑driven architectures Comfort working in fast‑paced, ambiguous environments – you actually enjoy the uncertainty Additional Details We’re office first, not office only. Working from the office every day is our default setting, but we flex when we need to. We have a high‑trust culture, so everyone is trusted to do what’s best for Halter. Our office vibe is something special: the high energy and spectacular people surrounding you are unforgettable. Your growth, learning and impact are truly unlimited here, and a big part of that comes from being together solving problems, innovating, building context, and constantly learning from each other. Diversity and Inclusion Halter is committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive workplace – a place where we can each be ourselves and do the best work of our lives. Research shows that while men apply to jobs when they meet an average of 60% of the requirements, women and under‑represented groups of candidates tend to only apply when they meet every requirement. If you think you have what it takes but don’t necessarily tick every requirement on this job description, please still get in touch and apply to Halter. We’d love to chat to see if you’ll be an epic fit! #J-18808-Ljbffr
