Commercial Project Manager - Auckland

This is a highly collaborative role where you will act as the vital bridge between Commercial Sales, Engineering, and on-site Installation Teams. Taking full ownership of planning, executing, and delivering commercial and industrial solar installations, your projects will range significantly in size, complexity, and location. You will be an active, hands‑on, technical leader who conducts site walkthroughs, solves complex on‑site problems, ensures uncompromised health and safety compliance, and builds internal capability. You will simultaneously lead a direct internal team and manage a network of specialist contractors, holding everyone to the same high standard of delivery. Key Responsibilities Review sales proposals, determine timelines, and establish staffing resource plans Build and maintain detailed project schedules tracking all critical milestones, dependencies, and resource allocation across concurrent projects Identify project risks early and implement mitigation strategies to protect delivery timelines and margin Assist with distributed generation (DG) applications and design/organise PV switchboards Provide on‑site technical training or commissioning support for complex industrial electrical work Act as the senior technical authority on site, resolving design conflicts and providing clear direction to installation teams Conduct pre‑install site walkthroughs with Lead Installers and deliver regular, transparent project updates to management and clients Prepare site‑specific health & safety plans (SSSPs) and rigorously ensure all installation staff and contractors operate within strict H&S and WorkSafe guidelines Lead, mentor, and performance‑manage a direct team of project coordinators, lead installers, and field technicians across multiple concurrent projects Identify, qualify, and onboard specialist contractors across electrical, roofing, civil, and structural trades in alignment with procurement policy Skills & Experience Highly proficient in Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Monday.com Proficient in Procore, Aconex, Job Management Software Proficient in AutoCAD, PV Design Software Advanced Excel, Microsoft 365 Suite, Teams, Slack, Cloud Document Storage, Reporting Dashboards Technical, values‑driven project leader Why Lightforce Solar?
