Job Description
Working across our sites, the Environment & Land team supports environmental care with real‑world delivery by ensuring we meet our obligations while building enduring relationships with landowners, mana whenua, and communities. You’ll support and enhance how we manage land, protect the environment, and deliver restoration outcomes that support both current operations and future renewable development. The Opportunity This role allows you to see the impact of your work on the environment and the relationships you build along the way. Your mahi plays a direct part in how Contact manages and protects the natural resources our generation relies on, while supporting the communities we work alongside. Responsibilities Plan and deliver ecological restoration work, including restoration plans and annual programmes, and see that work through from concept to execution. Work closely with landowners, mana whenua, councils, and contractors to build trusted relationships and enable successful on‑the‑ground outcomes. Ensure environmental obligations are understood and met, including consent compliance and offset delivery across sites. Contribute to land use planning and restoration priorities that support both current operations and future generation activity. Have the opportunity to support wider generation and development work, where environmental and land considerations are critical to how projects progress. About You You’ll likely bring: A relevant tertiary qualification in environmental, land, or resource management (or equivalent experience). Experience working in environmental planning, land management, or resource management. A strong understanding of planning frameworks and consent processes. Resilience and capability in managing challenging conversations. The ability to manage work programmes, priorities, and contractors with confidence. Clear, credible communication skills and a respectful, relationship‑led approach. Benefits Free health insurance cover, boosted KiwiSaver, access to Contact Shares, a ‘Good to be Home’ annual payment toward your home set up & wellbeing, a trail‑blazing parental leave policy, twice yearly payments towards our products if you’re a Contact customer, and more. Location & Working This role is based in Taupō. Flexible working arrangements are supported to suit the individual and business. Application Deadline Applications close on Wednesday 24th June. Please note, only candidates with the right to live and work in New Zealand will be considered for this role. #J-18808-Ljbffr
