About this Internship At Aurecon, we provide a paid 12-week summer Internship Program that offers real exposure to technical and advisory work. You will contribute to real projects while gaining practical experience in a leading engineering consultancy. We are looking for students currently studying Geotechnical Engineering who want to learn, grow and explore a career in consultancy. Opportunities are available across Aotearoa New Zealand including Auckland, Tauranga, Wellington and Christchurch. Within our Transport team, you will work on projects that shape resilient transport infrastructure and connected communities. What You’ll Do Work on real transport infrastructure projects and solve geotechnical engineering challenges Gain exposure to ground investigations, earthworks, foundations, and slope stability assessments Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Asia Pacific Build your network through Limelight, our early‑careers community Learn from experienced industry leaders and technical experts Explore pathways into our Graduate Program How We Support Your Growth This Internship Program is designed to build your technical capability, grow your consulting confidence, and provide insight into different career pathways. Supported by your team leader, a buddy, and a dedicated early careers team, you will take part in our Intern Learning Series and Leadership Series—helping you develop your professional skills, expand your network, and understand how complex work is delivered across teams and disciplines. Qualifications Currently studying Geotechnical Engineering, or Civil Engineering with a geotechnical focus, or a related discipline, and ideally in your second-to-last year of study A current license allowing you to drive in New Zealand An interest in transport infrastructure and an understanding of how ground conditions influence engineering outcomes Available for 12 weeks full-time work from mid-November 2026 to February 2027 (with a two-week break over Christmas and New Year) Curiosity, strong communication skills, and a collaborative mindset Ready to engineer possibilities?
