Job Description

Booking Administrator – Women\'s Health Health New Zealander – Te Whatu Ora (Salary: $76,705 - $79,925 per annum). The position is permanent, full-time (1.0 FTE) and based in Dunedin. About the Role We\'re looking for a motivated and organised booking administrator to join our Women\'s Health team in Dunedin. In this vital role, you\'ll help ensure patients receive timely access to care by coordinating outpatient appointments, managing waitlists, and providing high‑quality administrative support. Working in a fast‑paced and collaborative environment, you\'ll liaise with clinical teams, patients, and colleagues to keep clinics running efficiently while delivering a professional and compassionate service. Responsibilities Reception duties Coordinating and scheduling outpatient appointments Managing and maintaining patient waitlists Updating patient information and records accurately within patient administration systems Communicating with patients regarding appointments, cancellations, and rescheduling Supporting clinicians and administrative colleagues to ensure clinics run smoothly Maintaining confidentiality and ensuring data accuracy at all times About the Team/Service/Location Health New Zealander – Te Whatu Ora – Southern provides services across the largest geographical region in New Zealand, supporting more than 350,000 people across diverse communities. About You You are an organised administrator with excellent attention to detail and a genuine commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. Qualifications Minimum of NCEA Level 2 or equivalent At least two years' administrative experience At least two years' customer service experience Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Strong verbal and written communication skills Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail The ability to work collaboratively and build positive working relationships A proactive approach with strong personal initiative Respect for patient privacy and confidentiality Knowledge of office systems and administrative processes Good literacy and numeracy skills Experience within the health sector is desirable, as is an understanding of, or commitment to, implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in practice EEO Statement We welcome applications from our diverse Māori, Pacific, disabled, and rainbow communities.
