Refuse Transfer Station Team Leader

Lead Operations. Drive Safety. Make an Impact. We’re looking for a Team Leader with exceptional communication skills. Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills when working with staff, customers, and the public, consistently fostering positive relationships and delivering outstanding service as this hands‑on role will take charge of our Refuse Transfer Station (RTS) operations. If you’ve got operational leadership experience and thrive in practical, fast‑paced environments — this could be your next step. What you’ll be doing Leading and supervising a team across multiple RTS sites Managing daily operations including waste, recycling and site activity Coordinating staff, contractors, and resources Planning rosters to keep sites fully operational Driving a strong health & safety culture Handling customer enquiries and ensuring a positive public experience Managing site traffic and ensuring safe operations Overseeing basic financial processes and reporting What we’re looking for Proven experience in a supervisory or team leadership role Background in operations, recycling, refuse, logistics, civil, or similar industry Strong health & safety knowledge and commitment Ability to lead from the front and manage competing priorities Confident communicator who can handle challenging situations Full NZ Driver Licence class 1F Nice to have: Recycling, Refuse or transfer station experience First Aid or hazardous substances certifications Key leadership role with real responsibility Variety – no two days are the same Be part of a team that keeps the community running Supportive environment with a strong safety culture #J-18808-Ljbffr
