About the Role We are seeking an experienced Level 5 or 6 Pharmacy Technician to join our team for a 12‑month fixed‑term maternity leave cover position. Working predominantly within clinical areas, you will be part of a supportive and collaborative team alongside pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, nurses, and medical staff across a range of specialties. This varied role provides excellent opportunities to broaden your clinical knowledge, develop new skills, and gain valuable experience in different specialist areas. Responsibilities Medicaments reconciliation Assessing patients’ own medicines Counselling patients Coordinating medicine procurement and supply Supporting discharge medication processes Contributing to the education and development of pharmacy technicians About you Skills and experience you’ll need to be considered for the role include: Essential: New Zealand Certificate in Pharmacy Technician (Level 5) or equivalent qualification Minimum of 3 years relevant pharmacy technician experience Desirable: Experience working in a hospital setting Clinical pharmacy experience Demonstrated leadership experience Working at Health New Zealand – Te Whatu Ora About the Service The Te Whatu Ora Waikato Pharmacy Service provides essential pharmacy services to Waikato Hospital and rural hospitals, as well as tertiary advisory and support services to the Te Manawa Taki region.
