Intern Program – Power Supply Intern position at the New Zealand Aluminium Smelter (NZAS) in Tiwai Point, Southland, near Invercargill. The internship lasts 12 weeks during summer, providing hands‑on experience with equipment, systems and processes and the chance to improve safety and reliability of the operation. Responsibilities Work alongside experienced engineers to understand how equipment, systems and processes interact. Contribute to projects that enhance operational safety and reliability. Assist with troubleshooting power supply systems and documenting findings. Support ongoing maintenance and reliability initiatives. Qualifications & Eligibility Penultimate year or 2nd/3rd year university student. Enrolled in a bachelor’s program in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Power System Engineering, Mechatronics or Electrical & Electronics Engineering with a focus on electrical/power systems. Strong interest in safety and willingness to learn hands‑on. Right to work in NewZealand (citizens, permanent residents, student or post‑graduate work visa holders).
