Full time, Fixed term, Start Date: 20/07/2026, End Date: 11/12/2026 (To provide additional support for the region due to roll‑growth) Secondary (Years 7–15) / wharekura, Certificated teacher – English Te Aho o Te Kura Pounamu (Te Kura) is New Zealand's largest school with a roll of up to 24,000 ākonga (students) at any point of time. We provide personalised learning programmes from early childhood to NCEA Level 3. Our ākonga are at the centre of all we do. We are privileged to have the opportunity to support many ākonga on their learning journey including many at risk ākonga. Our vision is to enable our ākonga to achieve their educational and personal goals, empowering them to become engaged and contributing members of their communities. Ki te tī, ki te tā, ki te katoa – Anytime, anywhere, anyone. We're looking for a dedicated secondary kaiako with expertise in English to join our Te Kāhui Hauāuru region. This role is to provide additional support for the region due to roll‑growth and can be based in either our Hamilton or Rotorua (office). Kaiako at Te Kura engage with our ākonga online and face‑to‑face at huinga ako (advisories) and events, and also work onsite with colleagues in our regional offices. Te Kura aims to provide flexible working arrangements, so kaiako are able to request to work from home for up to two days per week. You will bring: A New Zeland teacher registration and a current practising certificate Strong knowledge of the English curriculum and assessment practices A calm, inclusive, and supportive approach to teaching and pastoral care Confidence using digital tools to connect with learners Enthusiasm for collaborative, values‑driven teaching A genuine interest in learning and embracing te reo Māori, with a commitment to growing your skills #J-18808-Ljbffr
