Kaiako - English (Hamilton or Rotorua)

Full time, Fixed term, Start Date: 20/07/2026, End Date: 11/12/2026 (To provide additional support for the region due to roll‑growth) Secondary (Years 7–15) / wharekura, Certificated teacher – English Te Aho o Te Kura Pounamu (Te Kura) is New Zealand's largest school with a roll of up to 24,000 ākonga (students) at any point of time. We provide personalised learning programmes from early childhood to NCEA Level 3. Our ākonga are at the centre of all we do. We are privileged to have the opportunity to support many ākonga on their learning journey including many at risk ākonga. Ki te tī, ki te tā, ki te katoa – Anytime, anywhere, anyone. We're looking for a dedicated secondary kaiako with expertise in English to join our Te Kāhui Hauāuru region. This role is to provide additional support for the region due to roll‑growth and can be based in either our Hamilton or Rotorua (office). Kaiako at Te Kura engage with our ākonga online and face‑to‑face at huinga ako (advisories) and events, and also work onsite with colleagues in our regional offices. Te Kura aims to provide flexible working arrangements, so kaiako are able to request to work from home for up to two days per week.
