Job Description

The Shipping Coordinator Based in Christchurch and reporting to the Senior Shipping Specialist, you’ll be responsible for coordinating international shipments, managing critical documentation, ensuring barcode accuracy, and supporting key projects that keep our supply chain moving efficiently. Your work directly supports Kathmandu’s commercial goals and ensures our products arrive on time, in full, and ready for adventure. What You’ll Be Responsible For Monitor daily shipment activity (cancelled bookings, date changes, exceptions) and resolve issues with suppliers and freight forwarders Act as the key contact for suppliers on shipping queries, RRPs, and troubleshooting Confirm freight bookings in LIMA with the Senior Shipping Specialist, optimising space and cost Document Processing Review and verify shipping documents (bills of lading, packing lists, declarations, certificates of origin) for customs compliance Ensure all documentation is accurate, compliant, and received on time to support smooth customs clearance Maintain accurate manual documentation and shipping records, particularly for DHL shipments Barcode Management Create GITN barcodes for new products and colourways in AX, ensuring correct system flow Troubleshoot barcode and purchase order issues in LIMA Grade and confirm supplier barcodes to meet Kathmandu standards General Create manual voyages in D365 when required Prepare manual invoices for international shipments in line with regulations Projects Support SMS shipping and ad‑hoc international wholesale exports Track progress against critical paths by attending meetings and distributing notes Work with the NZOC team on shipments linked to Kathmandu’s sponsorship of The NZ Team Develop and maintain process maps to streamline shipping operations Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy Reporting & Analysis Generate and analyse reports to identify trends, performance gaps, and spend/rate insights Follow up on issues with suppliers, freight forwarders, or internal stakeholders Provide regular updates to the Senior Shipping Specialist on key metrics and challenges Why You’ll Love Working With Us A brand with purpose: We are B Corp certified — sustainability and people are at the heart of everything we do.
