About the Opportunity | Mō tēnei tūranga We have an exciting opportunity for a People Solutions Consultant to join our Employment Relations (ER) workstream, one of four within our People Solutions team. As an experienced ER professional, you’ll bring deep expertise, sound judgement, and the confidence to act as a trusted internal adviser. You’ll manage complex ER cases and escalations, support capability uplift, and serve as a go-to ER specialist and informal leader. As our People Solutions model continues to mature, you’ll help develop people leaders and Advisors by setting high ER standards and modelling a proactive, solutions-focused approach. Through coaching and guidance, you’ll build others’ capability and confidence in decision-making. You’ll work closely with a wide range of stakeholders, delivering clear, pragmatic ER advice via phone and online channels. You’ll also contribute to the ongoing evolution of our systems, processes, and ways of working. Key responsibilities include: Managing ER casework, supporting frontline leaders to address people management challenges through the provision of expert ER advice Developing and delivering training in ER processes that contributes to capability uplift Improving systems, tools, and processes to enhance the customer experience Leading or supporting the implementation of process, project, and policy changes Embedding our P&C Operating Model and partnering across P&C to deliver high-impact service You bring several years of hands-on specialist ER experience, ideally within a shared services or HR operations environment. You’re confident managing complex, sensitive situations and have experience undertaking high-quality employment investigations arising from employee complaints. You are a confident communicator, conveying information clearly and calmly, even under pressure or ambiguity. You also possess strong written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and concise formal correspondence. Experience in restructuring and change processes would be beneficial. With a consultative mindset and strong advisory foundations, you naturally take on informal leadership through coaching and mentoring. You’re proactive, engaging, and skilled at influencing without authority, with a strong focus on enabling others to succeed. You’re passionate about developing others—supporting both team members and people leaders—while role modelling the behaviours and ways of working we expect across People Solutions.
