ENT Consultant Opportunity (Permanent or 1 year fixed term Locum) in Coastal New Zealand

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT The Department provides General ORL and Head and Neck services with the occasional visiting sub‑specialist and superb back up from a tertiary centre. The Department is supported by an ear nurse service, onsite audiology services and a speech and language service. The team currently consists of 1.0 FTE consultant staff and sees an annual total of approximately 2000 patients of which 2/3 are general ORL and 1/3 head and neck surgery. On average 500 surgeries are completed per annum. You will be expected to contribute to all Departmental QA activities. Your working week will be split into 70% clinical and 30% non‑clinical time and you will be expected to participate in the on‑call roster. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Candidates applying for this position will need to have; Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) Vocational registration in the Scope of Practice of ORL or be an overseas trained ORL surgeon eligible for MCNZ Provisional Vocational registration in the Scope of Practice of ORL or be eligible for Medical Council of New Zealand Special Purpose Scope of Practice – locum tenens registration ABOUT THE ORGANISATION Patients in the region are chronically underserved and qualified medical professionals have a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in this community while enjoying an excellent work life balance in a beautiful coastal setting.
