Job Description
Wellington based | Full-time 12-month fixed-term Midpoint salary of $82,061, dependent on experience. What you’ll do Support coordination and tracking of Director‑General priorities, ensuring clarity on actions, ownership and progress. Support coordination of the Weekly Report for the Minister of Health. Manage DG Advisory inbox triage and management. Contribute to the preparation of briefings, summaries and advice for senior leaders. Identify emerging risks and issues, and escalate appropriately with clear context. Support decision-making by assisting with analysis, framing issues, and testing the quality of advice. Coordinate across teams to ensure visibility, alignment and follow-through on actions and commitments. Build strong working relationships across the Ministry and support effective stakeholder engagement. Contribute to continuous improvement of processes, tools and ways of working. What you’ll bring Experience in policy, monitoring, corporate or advisory roles (or a related environment). Strong analytical skills, with the ability to understand information and contribute to clear, practical advice. Discretion, sound judgement and the ability to work through ambiguity with guidance. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships. Understanding (or interest in developing knowledge) of government processes.
