We are seeking a full time Cataloguing Team Leader, reporting to the General Manager, to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will lead a cataloguing team, comprising both office-based and remote team members, ensuring all books are catalogued and classified efficiently, on time, and within budget. You will drive operational excellence for our New Zealand and Australian clients by working alongside our collaborative Selection/Acquisitions and Processing teams. The successful candidate will possess a relevant library qualification, proven experience in team leadership, and a steadfast customer-centric mindset. Drawing on your extensive background in customer-focused cataloguing, you will lead a team to supply high-quality metadata to libraries across New Zealand. We are looking for candidates who demonstrate the following professional qualities and technical expertise: Extensive practical experience in cataloguing. A library qualification or an equivalent professional credential. Comprehensive knowledge of public library cataloguing standards, including LCSH, MARC, DDC23, and RDA. Proven people management capabilities, with a focus on coaching, mentoring, and team support. Strong strategic thinking and logical reasoning skills to successfully execute planned outcomes. A commitment to delivering high-quality metadata services to schools and libraries. Exceptional skills in both written and verbal communication. Analytical problem-solving abilities used to enhance team efficiency and manage resources. A self-starting, pragmatic approach with the ability to adapt to changing environments.
