Position Strategic Account Manager – Abbott – Auckland City, N, NZ (Full‑time, on‑site) Job Overview Build long‑term partnerships between Abbott and key strategic account customers, including outside Lab decision makers, hospital/commercial lab C‑suite and procurement, lab department management, consultants, scientific officers and end users. Deliver end‑to‑end solution possibilities across Abbott Diagnostics’ portfolio to drive both Abbott and customer growth and improve healthcare performance. Lead complex, multi‑stakeholder sales and contract negotiations, ensuring delivery of commitments and market‑share growth through new business and contract renewals. Responsibilities Maintain C‑suite relationships within hospitals and top commercial lab accounts. Drive sales growth initiatives and business acquisition to deliver planned sales targets. Build long‑term relationships with key public and commercial accounts to ensure business/contract/tender renewal. Develop deep insight into customer business, financials, industry trends and regulations to shape multi‑year account strategies. Identify acquisition opportunities for key accounts within a rolling 5‑year long‑range plan, build pipeline and track progress. Execute country strategies to secure new business wins. Collaborate with local teams, TSD (Total Solution Design), Service, DHS and Applications teams across the sales cycle. Conduct business reviews, monthly forecasting and account planning to prioritise sales activity and optimise effectiveness. Ensure all activities comply with the Abbott Code of Business Conduct and applicable laws. Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in science or related discipline (preferred in IVD, medical device, molecular, life sciences or healthcare). Minimum 5 years of IVD experience selling customized solutions to senior level in hospital and healthcare institutions. Proven sales experience in account management, sales forecasting, planning and people‑management. Track record of strong customer relationships, communication skills and cross‑functional collaboration. Strong motivator with ability to drive consistent performance for the sales team. Success in engaging senior management and key stakeholders. Industry Knowledge & Technical Skills Healthcare and diagnostics industry knowledge: market dynamics, competitors, terminology, challenges, regulations. Understanding of performance metrics in hospitals, tender processes and laboratory settings. Customer‑oriented approach to achieve high satisfaction.
