Exceptions Advisor (10 months fixed term) Closing date: 19 Jul 2026 21:00 | WorkType: Fixed term full-time One of Pharmac's core functions is to fund medicines for all New Zealanders. There are situations where individuals are in need of a medicine that is not funded by Pharmac (on the 'Schedule') and would like Pharmac to consider funding this medicine. Each application for exceptional circumstances funding requires special consideration - the role of the Exceptions team is to manage these funding applications. Exceptions Advisors assess individual funding applications received through our Exceptional Circumstances Framework. This includes critically appraising a wide range of information for each application, seeking clinical advice as needed, and preparing information for decision makers. The work is fast‑paced and applications are of a highly sensitive nature. To be effective in this role, Exceptions Advisors need strong communication skills, excellent time‑management and a high level of personal resilience. This 10-month fixed‑term role is to provide cover while the incumbent is on parental leave. This salary range is between $75,646 to $102,086, depending on the knowledge, skills, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the role. About you | Mōhou ake The Exceptions Advisor role is autonomous in nature, while also requiring collaboration and information sharing.
