Job Description
Support the Helios sales team and customers in correctly scoping, sizing, and specifying Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) and battery solutions — primarily Riello UPS, with additional brands as required. This role bridges pre‑sales technical support with solution design, ensuring customer requirements are accurately captured and translated into the right UPS and battery configuration at the target price point, while equipping the field sales team to present professional, technically credible quotes and proposals — including value‑add recommendations the customer or sales team may not have considered. The role also partners with the Helios AI SPINE team to build and refine tools that automate and scale pre‑sales and quoting workflows across Helios. Key Duties & Responsibilities Provide technical support to the Sales team, consultants, contractors and end customers during the enquiry, quotation, and proposal phase for UPS and battery solutions. Interpret and clarify customer requirements (load profile, runtime, redundancy, environment, growth headroom) to correctly size UPS units and battery banks — primarily Riello, with familiarity across other brands used by Helios. Perform load calculations, runtime and autonomy calculations, and battery sizing/reconciliation to deliver a solution that meets the customer's technical requirements at the target price. Prepare clear, professional quotation and proposal documentation for the field sales team, including technical narrative, SLDs, and configuration summaries. Proactively identify and recommend value‑add options the sales team or customer may not have considered (e.g., monitoring/communications cards, maintenance contracts, N+1 redundancy, battery replacement/reconditioning strategy, containment/environmental factors). Act as the technical escalation point for the field sales and service teams on UPS and battery configuration questions. Liaise with Riello and other OEM technical/support teams on product specification, availability, and non‑standard configurations. Contribute to and maintain a standard UPS/battery solutions catalogue and standardised sizing tools to speed up and de‑risk quoting. Partner with the AI SPINE team to design, test, and refine AI‑enabled tools that automate elements of requirement‑gathering, sizing, and proposal generation. Support handover of won opportunities to project delivery/production, ensuring the specified solution is clearly documented. Maintain awareness of relevant standards (e.g., AS/NZS 3000, IEC 62040) as they apply to UPS and battery installation and selection. Attend internal project, sales, and management meetings as required. Any other responsibilities assigned by management. Attributes Quality‑focused, accurate, and systematic — comfortable owning technical detail under time pressure. Strong communication skills, able to translate technical detail into customer‑facing language. Commercially minded — understands the link between technical specification and target price. Proactive and self‑directed, with a consultative, solutions‑oriented approach. Curious about AI and technology as a lever to scale the business. Skills & Qualifications Hands‑on experience with UPS and/or battery systems, ideally including Riello or comparable brands. Understanding of electrical load calculations, runtime/autonomy sizing, and battery bank configuration. Experience supporting a sales team through the quotation/proposal process, ideally in critical infrastructure, electrical, or power‑related industries. Familiarity with relevant standards (AS/NZS, IEC) as applied to UPS and power protection systems. Experience with inverter systems like CE+T a bonus. Strong documentation skills — able to produce clear, professional proposal and specification documents. Comfort working with, or strong interest in learning, AI‑enabled quoting and design tools. Team player with a strong collaboration mindset across sales, engineering, and the AI SPINE team. #J-18808-Ljbffr
