Join our specialist Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) rehabilitation service, where every meal plays a part in recovery, dignity, and rebuilding independence. As Head Chef, you’ll lead a small, dedicated kitchen team delivering nutritious, high-quality meals that directly support the wellbeing and progress of our clients and their whānau. About The Role Our service is a 36-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit. Meal volumes vary depending on occupancy and individual client needs, creating a dynamic environment that requires flexibility, organisation, and a collaborative approach to consistently deliver excellent service. Key Responsibilities Lead day‑to‑day kitchen operations, maintaining high standards of food quality and safety Plan and prepare menus that support rehabilitation, recovery, and overall wellbeing Deliver meals tailored to a wide range of dietary and texture‑modified requirements Work collaboratively with clinical teams to ensure safe and appropriate nutrition Promote dignity, choice, and independence through food Dietary Expertise You will bring strong knowledge of texture‑modified diets (e.g. pureed, minced and moist, soft diets), gluten‑free, vegetarian, vegan, and sugar‑free diets, and managing complex and individualized dietary needs in a healthcare setting.
