Little Waves Early Learning Centre is seeking a full‑time head kaiako to join our supportive team. This five‑day‑a‑week role includes a mix of opening and closing shifts, providing opportunities to build strong relationships with whānau, mentor kaiako, and support the daily operation of our 50‑licensed centre, including a 10‑place nursery. This is a hands‑on leadership position where you’ll spend most of your time alongside tamariki and kaiako, with allocated non‑contact time for leadership and administration. Working closely with the centre manager, you’ll lead and support teaching practice, strengthen relationships, guide curriculum and assessment, ensure compliance, and contribute to continuous improvement. We’re looking for someone who: Holds an ECE qualification and current NZ Teaching Council practising certificate. Has leadership experience or is ready to step into leadership. Is passionate about mentoring others and delivering quality teaching. Confidently embeds Te Tiriti, te reo Māori, and tikanga Māori. Builds authentic relationships and leads collaboratively.
