Job Description
Programme Lead - Permanent full-time opportunity - Upper Hutt Youthtown has been developing young people since its inception in 1932. Join our team to be part of a strong workforce dedicated to continuing this legacy. As a Programme Lead you will lead the delivery of programmes for children and young people, focusing mainly on Out of School Care and Recreation (OSCAR) programmes accredited by the Ministry of Social Development. You will work directly with rangatahi, schools, and community partners to ensure every programme is values‑led, inspiring, and unforgettable. Responsibilities Lead the design, implementation and evaluation of Out of School Care and Recreation programmes. Coordinate and manage a team of staff to deliver high‑quality youth programmes. Build and maintain relationships with schools, community partners and local stakeholders. Ensure all programmes comply with relevant regulations and Youthtown policies. Balance administrative duties with hands‑on programme delivery. Adapt working hours to meet the needs of the programme, including weekends and evenings. Qualifications Full, clean New Zealand driver's licence and at least 2 years of driving experience. Excellent teamwork and communication skills. Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing programmes for children and young people. Experience in staff coordination and team management. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks. Commitment and passion for empowering young people.
