Purpose The Senior People Advisor is a fixed term role to cover a period of parental leave. Working closely with the Chief People and Operations Officer and the People Operations Coordinator, this role will manage talent acquisition and general HR support for New Zealand, Australia and Europe based employees. Reports to Chief People and Operations Officer Hours Part time – 20 hours per week across Tuesday to Friday. Key Contacts Internal: Employees and people leaders. External: employment lawyers, benefits providers, external recruitment firm. Responsibilities Manage the recruitment and selection process to attract, hire, and retain top talent with the People Operations Coordinator and our external recruiters. Collaborate with leaders to understand their objectives and challenges, providing strategic HR support and insights. Promote a values-based culture of high performance, transparency, fun, and inclusivity within the workplace. Foster employee engagement and satisfaction through effective communication and feedback mechanisms. Support leaders with engagement survey action planning activities. Coach leaders through annual performance and remuneration processes, including leading any calibration, sense checking processes. Advise on performance management, including performance reviews and employee performance issues. Ensure compliance with local labour laws and regulations. Ensure Employee Handbooks and other associated documents are current and communicate expectations in line with the organization values. Provide support and guidance to leaders on complex HR-related queries, policies, and procedures. Address employment relations issues promptly and effectively, maintaining a positive work environment. Brief external legal counsel as required. Ensure H&S legislative compliance and robust policies are in place. Support leaders to manage employees facing longer term health issues. Participate in and drive Health & Safety initiatives as required. Support more junior members of the team, enabling their growth and development. Experience & Qualifications Essential Bachelor’s degree in human resources, related discipline, or equivalent experiences. At least 3 years’ experience working at an HR advisor level. Good working knowledge of NZ employment laws. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships at all levels. Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. High level of computer literacy, including proficiency with HR software. Preferred Experience working across multiple time zones. Experience working in a Software as a Service environment. Some knowledge of Australian and/or UK and European laws. What else do you need to know? This is a hybrid role, and you will need to be able to work out of our Wellington CBD office at least three days per week.
