Kitchen Assitant (Part-Time) - MOE Gisborne

Position Kitchen Assistant at MoE production Kitchen in Gisborne Hospital. Permanent position with a minimum of 20 hours per week. Responsibilities Receive and store delivered meals, monitor temperatures and ensure HACCP compliance. Prepare and reheat meals according to safety and quality standards. Pack and dispatch meals for delivery to schools. Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen and dining area, including equipment and waste management. Assist with food preparation, portioning and plating as required. Assist with general kitchen duties and support the team in a fast‑paced environment. Qualifications & Experience Physically fit, reliable and able to work autonomously. Good communication skills and a strong commitment to food safety practices. Previous experience in a kitchen environment is an advantage. NZQA Food Handling Certificate (Units 167 & 168) desirable. Successful candidates will be able to pass pre‑employment checks satisfactorily. Applicants must have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
