Head Teacher

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Teacher to join our team as we establish our new centrein Takanini and Conifer Grove. This is an exciting opportunity for a confident leader who is looking to be part of a new service and help shape a positive, high-quality learning environment from the ground up. About the role As our Head Teacher, you will lead the teaching team to deliver high-quality early childhood education that reflects the principles of Te Whāriki and supports positive outcomes for all tamariki. You will foster a collaborative team culture, mentor teachers, build strong relationships with whānau, and ensure the centre consistently meets all regulatory and licensing requirements. We are looking for someone who Has previous experience in a Head Teacher or similar leadership role within an early childhood education setting. Is looking for an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of a new centre. Has a strong understanding of Te Whāriki and can confidently implement its principles within daily teaching practice. Has sound knowledge of the Education (Early Childhood Services) Regulations, Licensing Criteria, and all relevant compliance requirements. Demonstrates excellent leadership, mentoring, and team-building skills. Is confident in supporting teacher growth through coaching, feedback, and reflective practice. Builds genuine, respectful partnerships with tamariki, whānau, and the wider community. Has excellent organisational and communication skills.
