Job Description

Key Accountabilities Enable delivery of the ROCC work programme across Eastern District. Align targeted enforcement, social intervention and community resilience approaches. Build and maintain trusted relationships with iwi/hapū, agencies, providers and community leaders. Enable collective action that addresses the harms and drivers of organised crime. Provide strategic advice, insights and reporting to inform local and national priorities. What you’ll bring Demonstrated understanding of and experience working alongside Māori, including iwi/hapū and whānau, underpinned by cultural competence and a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi. Political nous and a strong ability to navigate complex, multi‑agency environments. Ability to work autonomously, manage complexity and deliver in a fast‑paced setting. Confidence in preparing and delivering clear, strategic written and verbal briefings to senior leadership. Strong communication skills to translate community voice into action and build trust across diverse stakeholders. Project management and stakeholder coordination experience in a public sector or community context. Special Requirements For Police Employees: Agree to enrol in a leadership programme at the advertised level, at a future date or have qualified under CEP or a previous Career Progression Framework at the level you are applying for. Role is based in Hastings area; regular travel required. Full driver’s licence essential. Security Clearance Requirements Eligible candidates may be required to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET national security clearance. Minimum criteria: NZ Citizen with continuous residency in NZ for 10 years, Permanent Resident with continuous residency for 10 years, or citizen of/continuous residency in Australia, Canada, UK, USA for 10 years.
