The Role An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to join our Christchurch-based engineering team, reporting to our Country lead. The purpose of the role is to manage delivery of projects for our clients throughout South Island New Zealand You will be a tertiary qualified Engineer who has solid previous experience in a similar position and is focused on quality & safety, and is experienced in managing complex projects and diverse site teams. Key Management Priorities for the Role Ensure D2 Process project methodology is effectively applied and project standards are enforced. Accurate forecasting and reporting of project revenue, profitability, margin and cost to complete. Identifying opportunities for optimizing efficiency. Manage continuous improvement of project management procedures. Actively managing key customer accounts. Aim to develop key client relationships on projects with a view to establishing long term business opportunities. Identify business development and “add-on” sales opportunities as they relate to a specific project. Qualifications & Experience Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience in managing engineering projects in the food & beverage or pharmaceutical industries. A background in engineering - with an Engineering or related degree. You will have an understanding of project management principles - preferably with a formal project management qualification such as PMI-PMP or Prince2. A good commercial understanding of all phases of projects. Tasks & Responsibilities Technically managing projects throughout their delivery cycle. Strong drive to control costs – meet or beat the budget. Ensure project deadlines are met. Ensure variations are managed promptly and efficiently. Ensure quality delivery of your projects. Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and well-being, preventing harm and enabling people to thrive. Work plans are created, executed and revised as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements. Resources are identified and assigned to individual responsibilities to ensure workflow is monitored and optimised in order to achieve project deliverables. The day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope are managed. Client expectations are communicated and managed.
