Job Description

Overview Te Whatu Ora is seeking a Network Engineer to deploy, configure, and maintain network services across multiple sites in Wellington. The role involves working closely with senior engineers, technical teams, project stakeholders, vendors, and clients to deliver high‑quality service. Key Responsibilities Support and maintain network infrastructure across multiple sites. Assist in the design and deployment of network solutions. Troubleshoot connectivity issues and ensure optimal performance. Collaborate with senior engineers and clients to deliver high‑quality service. Travel to various locations to support on‑site installations and upgrades. Location & Team This permanent full‑time role is based in Wellington. You will work for Health NewZealand | Te WhatuOra, contributing to a nationally connected health system grounded in TeTiritioWaitangi principles and serving a diverse community. Qualifications & Experience 1–3 years of hands‑on experience in networking. Strong knowledge of networking concepts – TCP/IP, routing, switching, wireless. Familiarity with Cisco, Juniper or similar network technologies. Familiarity with Fortinet or similar network protection technologies. CCNA certification or equivalent. 3 years of experience delivering day‑to‑day technical support for end‑users and IT systems. Experience deploying and configuring complex network solutions, troubleshooting, and incident management. Strong communication skills and a positive, eager attitude. Willingness to travel regularly. A full New Zealand driving licence. Preferred Skills Ability to be efficient at operational tasks, troubleshooting technical issues, and supporting implementation of solutions.
