Job Description

Registered Nurse – Hawkes Bay Fallen Soldiers Hospital Permanent, Part‑time position – 56 hours per fortnight (0.7 FTE). About the role As a Registered Nurse – Oncology, you will provide high‑quality, patient‑centred care within an outpatient oncology setting, supporting patients and whānau throughout their treatment and recovery journey. You will assess, plan, and deliver care, while working closely with patients and whānau facing complex and often life‑limiting conditions. Your role will be clinically rewarding and varied – supporting systemic anti‑cancer therapies, delivering education, and helping patients manage treatment and side‑effects. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, contributing to a holistic approach to care that supports wellbeing from diagnosis through to treatment, recovery, or end‑of‑life care. About the team / service / location Our oncology service provides outpatient cancer care across Hastings and satellite community sites. You will join a multidisciplinary team of nurses, clinicians, and support staff dedicated to delivering coordinated, high‑quality care to patients across the region. About you Current Nursing Council of New Zealand registration and a valid practising certificate. At least 2 years of clinical nursing experience. Strong communication, teamwork, and time‑management skills. A compassionate, patient‑focused approach to care. Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and culturally responsive practice.
