Opportunities across Health New Zealand Anaesthetic Technicians work in operating theatres and critical care environments across the motu, including: Emergency and trauma services Maternity and obstetric care Intensive care and high‑dependency units Interventional radiology, endoscopy and cardiac catheterisation labs Mobile and anaesthesia support in remote or rural hospitals Depending on the district, you may also have opportunities to develop advanced clinical or leadership skills. What it’s like to work here Anaesthetic Technicians are key members of the perioperative team, working closely with anaesthetists, nurses and surgical staff to ensure safe anaesthesia delivery.
